So what do you think about the story of Yu Gong?
•I think it’s really interesting. Yu Gong found a good way to solve his problem.
•Really? I think it’s a little bit silly. It doesn’t seem very possible to move a mountain.
•But the story is trying to show us that anything is possible if you work hard! Yu Gong kept trying and didn’t give up.
•Well, I still don’t agree with you. I think we should try to find other ways to solve a problem.
•But what could Yu Gong do instead of moving the mountains?
•Well, there are many other ways. For example, he could build a road. That’s better and faster than moving a mountain!
•You have different opinions about the story, and neither of you are wrong. There are many sides to a story and many ways to understand it.
•In November 1979, pupils in England were able to watch a new program called Monkey. Most of them were hearing this story for the first time. However, this story is not new to Chinese children. The Monkey King or Sun Wukong is the main character in the traditional Chinese book Journey to the west.
•The Monkey King is not just any normal monkey. In fact, he sometimes doesn’t even look like a monkey! This is because he can make 72 changes to his shape and size, turning himself into different animals and objects. But unless he can hide his tail, he can’t turn himself into a person. To fight bad people, the Monkey King uses a magic stick. Sometimes he can make the stick so small that he can keep it in his ear. At other times, he is able to make it big and long.
•The Monkey King has excited the children of China for many years. And as soon as the TV program came out more than 30 years ago, Western children became interested in reading this story because the clever Monkey King keeps fighting to help the weak and never gives up.

I didn’t think I had a passion(热情). I would sit in front of the TV all day , thinking about nothing but the next show .
It was not long ago that I first learned how important having a passion is to a life . That day my mother and I sent my sister to the gym by bus . While she was 78 off the bus at the bus stop , someone on the side of the road caught my eye . It was a man dressed in old and dirty clothes . He was homeless . That didn’t interest me , because I had seen many people like 79 before .
But in some way he was different from others . This man was not sitting down with a sad look . He had a 80 in his hand and was dancing happily to the music . The radio seemed to be the most precious thing he had .
  “ Mum , why does that man have a radio even 81 he’s homeless ? ” I asked .
  “ He bought it , ” she replied . I still couldn’t understand it .
“ But if he’s homeless , 82 doesn’t he use the money to buy food or clothes ? He wasted it on something he doesn’t need .”
  “ Well , Sarah , sometimes food and clothes aren’t the most important things . We 83 happiness , too . ”
That man must care enough about music to buy a radio 84 of food or clothes . I soon realized that happiness is the key to life . Without it , there’s nothing to look forward to . A passion gives people the happiness they need to keep going .
Since then I’ve never spent a day without thinking 85 what’s truly important . A home , a meal , clothes – these things are only part of the picture . What’s often forgotten is that we all need a joy , a light in a dark day . We all need a passion .

writing has become a fashion among today’s teenagers.
Gao Can, a 13-year-old girl, is the 76 member of the Association of writers of Shaanxi. She writes fairy tales, short 77 , and most of all, poems. Gao said she began poem writing when she was in primary school. Once the teacher asked the class 78 a composition called “If I were …”. Gao had an idea, “why not make it a Poem?” That was her 79 poem, and it won a lot of compliments from both her teacher and her classmates. So far, hundreds of her poems 80 out.
“Writing poems is not difficult at all. Just express 81 —what you do, what you see or what you think.” said Gao, “I don’t have enough life experience, so I write about nature, about things I feel inside.”
However, teenagers these days seldom write poems or read them because exams want any kind of articles 82 poems.
But like Gao, there are still students who like poems. Hu Jingzhi is one of them. The 14-year-old boy said he was 83 in poem writing. But it was annoying that he couldn’t find many poem collections in nearby bookshops.
Gao agreed with Hu. She said today’s bookshops 84 with books on “how to give a successful speech”, “how to know what others think” or “how to make money 85 ”.
“Poems won’t teach you how to make money, but the beautiful words clear your mind and activate your imagination.” said Gao, “At least, read poems—for the nice things in life.”

Camping in your backyard is full of fun, whatever your age. It's great for keeping us relaxed. It offers chances to check the night sky and to be noisier than usual. It lets us have friends over to stay who might not fit inside the house! Follow these instructions and you'll have a night you'll never forget!

  Put up your tent.

Depending on the number of family members and guests, you may need more than one tent. Tell your friends to bring their tents if needed. Follow the instructions or check out the articles on how to put up a tent on the Internet.

  Prepare your bedding.

You'II want your guests to be able to relax in comfort. Put something soft to lie on on the floor: A blow-up air mattress or thick comforters may work well. Fill the tent with soft toys and blankets (毯子)。 Have lightweight sleeping bags or cotton blankets. They are especially important if you live where the night temperatures drop greatly.

  Prepare a seating area.

If you have a picnic table, that would work best. If not, set up a few chairs and a small table to set out drinks and food. A simple choice is to lay out a blanket in the sun, so that your friends can eat and talk. Be sure the grass isn't wet!

  Make memories.

Plan some activities. You're camping in the backyard, so it's time to make the most of being outdoors.

Have a camera nearby to take silly photos of you, your family members, and your friends. Take one large group shot with everyone smiling and laughing. Be sure to make copies for everyone!
